Blackwell Deserves The Job

Kevin Blackwell
The future of manager Kevin Blackwell will hopefully be resolved as soon as the season is over and after the transformation he has engineered since taking over the reins from Bryan Robson he fully deserves a contract.

Apart from the poor display against Charlton Athletic at Bramall Lane the vast majority of both performances and results have been excellent and overall the results have resembled promotion form rather than the expected relegation battle.

I must admit on his appointment I only saw Blackwell as a temporary measure and would have preferred a big name such as Allardyce or someone similar but fair play to Kevin he knew from his previous time with us what makes the place tick and has done wonders in a short space of time which bodes well for next season when (touch wood) we will have a sustained promotion challenge through the whole season instead of this years a tale of two seasons.

If the club can keep star performer James Beattie then next season winning the championship title is a real possibility obviously there will be stiff competition from other teams as there always is in this division with the three relegated sides from the premiership should be there or thereabouts for starters.
