That Winning Feeling

The hard fought 1-0 win over Plymouth brought a welcome three points and with the point picked up at Ipswich in midweek it was probably three more than I expected we would get hopefully the team can now start producing some sort of form at home as it has been a season to forget so far at least in terms of results and performances at the lane.

It was encouraging to see James Beattie returning to form with two goals in two games he quite rightly should be the first choice striker but who the best partner for him is a matter of debate Kevin Blackwell has gone with Billy Sharp up to now but none of the striking partnerships has appeared to click yet in terms of goal output.

After one win people are looking at the league table and in particular the play off places but I think that particular ship has sailed although I expect we will finish in mid table and clear of the relegation places.

This years FA Cup is now wide open and I thought Middlesboro looked very ordinary against us and were there for the taking the fact we had just made a managerial change when we played them probably did not help us but fair play to Cardiff they went up there and deserved to win.
